The Ridley Tigers Prep Team opened their season with a productive and optimistic tone, showing early signs of promise and resilience. Players arrived three days before Welcome to Ridley Days, giving them just one practice and a short window to build chemistry before facing strong GOJHL opponents.
Despite the quick turnaround, the Tigers worked tirelessly through a four-game exhibition series, displaying impressive competitiveness and growth. They split the series 2–2, earning two exciting victories over the Brantford Bulldogs — 3–2 on the road and 3–2 in overtime on home ice. The two setbacks came against perennial GOJHL powerhouses, the St. Catharines Falcons (5–3) and the Fort Erie Meteors (3–2), providing valuable learning experiences for our young squad.
Goaltending was a highlight throughout the series, with stellar performances from Nathan Gagne ’26, Maxence Picard ’26, and Charlie Campbell ’27. Offensively, the Tigers saw contributions up and down the lineup:
The Tigers are laying a solid foundation for the season with balanced scoring, strong defensive efforts and reliable goaltending.
Looking ahead, we are hosting the first annual Peace Bridge Cup on Saturday, October 4th, taking on traditional rival Nichols School from Buffalo, NY.
