Apply to Ridley College

Our admissions process is designed to get to know you and your family. Together, we explore the possibilities for you at Ridley, our independent day and boarding school, and find out whether our school is the right fit for your education.

YOUR ADMISSIONS JOURNEY

Your admissions process begins with your application. After it is submitted, you will liaise with a member of the Admissions team, who will review your profile, share further information, arrange visits, answer questions and determine if Ridley is right for you. Our approach is specifically designed to help us understand each candidate as an individual student. We understand that there may be unique circumstances that require flexibility and we adapt to accommodate for these where possible.

Decision letters for all families who submitted their application before the deadline will be sent on Friday, March 6th, 2026

Families applying for Tuition Assistance must complete their Apple application by Wednesday, February 11th, 2026.

If you have any questions about your Upper School Day application, don't hesitate to contact our Admissions team

Day Student Eligibility

To apply for day student status at Ridley College, families must have a current, local address and reside within a 50 km radius of the campus. Your Guide To A Successful Admissions Interview

Ridley College also accepts the Standard Online Application.

I was immediately impressed with how quickly the school got in touch to provide information to help us in the decision-making process. They also accommodated tours and multiple class visits to ensure it was the right school for us. I have noticed how easily [my girls] have adapted to the school, how much more they are learning in the diverse courses and how their social interactions have blossomed.

Is there a strict application deadline?

The deadline for Upper School Day (Grades 9-PG) applications is February 20th, 2026. All other categories (boarding school families in all grades, Lower School and Middle School Day) operate on a rolling admissions basis, meaning we review applications as they are received. Early application is strongly advised due to limited space.

When should I apply for the best chance of acceptance?

We recommend beginning the process in the Fall of the preceding academic year. International applicants must apply as early as possible (e.g., Summer) to allow ample time for the often lengthy Canadian study permit application process.

How long does the application process take once all documents are submitted?

The document review process is typically completed within one to two weeks if all documents are submitted. Once complete, an Admissions Officer will schedule your required interview to finalize the application.

When will I be notified of the Admissions decision?

Families can generally anticipate a decision within two weeks of the student's file being completed in full.

What happens if I am wait pooled?

Day and boarding school students may be placed in the waitpool if we do not have a space to offer them at the time their application is reviewed. Admissions will reach out should a spot become available; however, waitpooled candidates are always encouraged to explore other options in addition to Ridley College in case we are not able to offer them a spot for the upcoming school year.

What Makes a Successful Candidate?

We use a holistic approach, looking beyond academic scores. We carefully weigh a candidate’s confidential recommendations, unique character, and potential to contribute positively to the entire Ridley experience including boarding life, high-performance athletics, leadership and community service.

Who qualifies as a Domestic Student for enrolment and financial aid?

Domestic students are defined as Canadian or American citizens or those with Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) status. All others are considered international students and are expected to enrol as boarders.

Is a local busing service included in the day student tuition fee?

Yes. The cost of local bus transportation for day students within the 50 km radius is included in the price of tuition. Please contact the Admissions team for precise pick-up locations and route timing in the Niagara Region.

Should I apply for financial assistance (bursary) at the same time as the admission application?

Yes, absolutely. If you are seeking bursary funding, we recommend doing it simultaneously with the admission application. Ridley provides the offer of admission and the allocated funding decision at the same time.

Can a student change their enrolment status (e.g., Day to Boarding or Boarding to Day school) after enrolling?

A student's status at the time of enrolment is their expected status for the duration of their time at the school. Students wishing to change their status must submit their request in writing to the Associate Director of Admissions. Status changes are not guaranteed and are subject to the enrolment management priorities of the College. A student whose status change request is declined must re-enroll under the original contract issued or withdraw from the College at the conclusion of the current academic year.
