Gooderham, Peter S. OR'44
Born on March 23, 1926 in Toronto, Gooderham attended prep school at Upper Canada College and came to Ridley in 1940. He was a member of Ridley’s first inter-school squash championship team in 1944. Upon graduation, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1945. He began his long and successful business career at the investment firm Wills, Bickle in 1948. He was a Governor of the Toronto Stock Exchange and a longtime director and Chairman of The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company from 1956 to 2001. Gooderham developed a life-long attachment to the school and served as Governor in many capacities, including as loyal class agent for his Class of '44 until his death. Gooderham died in Toronto on February 4, 2008.
