Basketball

Ridley’s Prep Basketball Programme is a proud member of the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA), the province’s premier high school basketball league. Our student-athletes are exposed to elite-level competition here in Canada as well as at international showcase events across North America and the Bahamas.

Preparation for this level of play includes daily practices, as well as multiple off-court sessions, which include strength training and active recovery. Training and competition are supported by a dedicated coaching staff with national and international experience, Ridley’s athletic therapy and school medical team, a strength and conditioning coach, an on-campus nutritionist and other professional instructors.

Away from the court, players are educated by Ridley’s dedicated professional faculty and supported by academic advisors, tutors, and residential life staff.

Players from across Canada and beyond have been exploring Ridley College for our ability to propel personal, academic and professional careers. In recent years, several of our players have been named to national team rosters, representing their countries at the highest level. Unlike traditional sports academies, Ridley leads with wellbeing and underscores academics, which creates optimal conditions for athletic accomplishment.

Prep Basketball Development Program

The Basketball Development Programme (BDP) aims to foster growth and development for select Grade 9, 10 and 11 students, serving as a pipeline to nurture athletes for our Prep team. The BDP model consists of the following pillars:

  • Competitive development.
  • Skill development.
  • Physical development.

The top players in our programme, who are promoted from the BDP or recruited, make up Ridley’s Prep basketball team.
