Ridley College employs highly qualified private music teachers for instrumental, vocal and music theory.
Our students may select an instrument or voice to study privately on campus, or enroll in our Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Level 9 Basic Harmony Theory group class.
Our program supports learners at every stage — from beginners to those pursuing the Associate Diploma of the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto). Lessons are scheduled during the school day at a consistent weekly time that accommodates the student, family and instructor.
Students are required to provide their own instruments for lessons. Piano students must also have access to a piano or keyboard at home for regular practice.
To register, please follow the link below. For more information, please contact the Private Music Lesson Programme Coordinator at [email protected].
Private music lessons are charged to your family account at the start of each term. Lessons for students in the final two weeks of each term will be charged individually, provided these are not make-up lessons.
Ten weekly lessons from Sept. 29th–Dec. 5th. Make-up lessons or individual lessons from Dec. 8th–Dec. 19th.
Seven weekly lessons from Jan. 12th–Feb. 27th. Make-up lessons or individual lessons from Mar. 2nd–6th.
Nine weekly lessons from Mar. 24th–May 22nd. Make-up lessons or individual lessons from May 25th–29th.
Lessons are prepaid per term. Students are registered automatically for the next term of lessons unless the parent notifies the private music lesson coordinator before the new term starts.
The final two weeks in each term are reserved for students who qualify for a lesson credit. Any lesson missed without 24 hours notice is forfeited, except for last-minute illness or family emergency. Notice for any missed lesson must be given by the parent via email.
Provided that proper notice is given, the student will have the following options:
If a student wishes to withdraw from lessons, the parent should indicate this directly to the private teacher and music lesson coordinator. No remaining lessons will be refunded during the term's final three weeks.
Are you ready to take your music theory to the next level? Join our RCM Level 9 Basic Harmony course — a comprehensive, university-level class designed for music students aged 14 and up (Grade 9+).
This course is timed to prepare students for the RCM Summer Session in-person exams (August 2026). If there's interest, a Level 8 Theory class may also be offered to help students meet prerequisites.
Additional details (course outline, homework expectations, location and absence policy) will be provided upon registration.
