W.C. Montgomery Trophy Award Winner, First Soccer (Captain), First Hockey (Assist. Captain), First Tennis, Duke of Edinburgh (Bronze), Brad Ferguson attended Ridley from 1981 to 1987. Upon graduation, he went to the University of Alberta where he earned a B.A. Economics in 1992 and a B.Comm Finance in 1994. Brad has worked for Procter & Gamble, KPMG and was the Founder & CEO of Strategy Summit Ltd. from 2002-2012. In 2012, he turned his attention to public service to become President and CEO of the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation where he designed and implemented an economic strategy for Edmonton, Alberta resulting in the city becoming Canada’s 5th largest and youngest, fastest growing city, responsible for 1/4 of the net new jobs in the country from 2012-2017. By constantly re-defining leadership in the public service, Brad transformed the foreign investment, tourism, major events, two conference centres, land development and business incubators divisions into one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures and highest performing economic development agencies. Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson praised Brad’s work as helping to transform and modernize Edmonton Economic Development Corp. as a passionate evangelist for competitiveness in Canadian business. Consumed in public service, Brad continues to tackle some of our toughest economic and societal challenges as a respected advisor to business, political and community leaders across the country.
