Ten Houses. One Community.
Ridley’s ten boarding houses provide all Upper School students and Lower School junior boarders with a place to call home while they are on campus. Founded on the traditional boarding system of the United Kingdom, our students are sorted into houses that enrich their learning experiences and create meaningful connections. Even our day students are provided with desks and storage within a designated dorm room so they too feel integrated with their housemates.
The Houses create a close community of friends and mentors that feels like one big family. In fact, The Houses of Ridley are run by compassionate adults known as Heads of Houses who are often Ridley parents themselves. The Heads of Houses and their families, along with Assistant Heads of Houses and a full Residential Life team, live amongst the boys and girls on campus, ensuring they are available 24-7 throughout the school year.
Each House has a unique identity — much in the same way the Houses at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter novels do — with mascots, colours, cheers and more. Traditions and House spirit run deep and throughout the year the girls houses participate in inter-house competitions in chase of the Bradley Sheild, while our boys houses duke it out for the Bermuda Cup.
