The 1st half proved to be a fairly one-sided affair, with Ridley dominating the majority of the play and possession, and the girls played excellent recycling-the-ball rugby to set up attack after attack. After a big run by Tessa McFarlane where she weaved through most of the Lakefield backs, the resulting ruck ball was fed back to Chelsea Fischer who powered over the line for the try. Chelsea also converted her own kick, and the Tigers were up 7-0.

The U14 Tigers started the season in fine form against a large and tough team from Holy Trinity School. On a sunny but cool afternoon in Thornhill, we demonstrated perseverance and fight by coming back from a first-half deficit to defeat Holy Trinity 14-5. Clutch tries from newcomers Marcelo Abramo and Daniel Staios put Ridley ahead in the second half. Hard running and clutch kicking from Romaeo D’Intino and Cameron Jewer also contributed to the win. A fine start for a team that travels to Appleby next week.
