Brian Stewart had an impressive athletic career as a student at Ridley, where he was part of the football team, the undefeated golf team, and was the recipient of the Headmaster’s Trohpy as MVP of the First Boys hockey team. Despite his impressive performances on the ice, it’s his experiences with Ridley teammates that form his most meaningful memories – getting along like brothers working towards a common goal. He went on to play in the OHL with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, then with the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds. This L.A. Kings draft pick led UNB to the National Championship in 1997, the Atlantic championship in 1998, 1999, and was named Reds defenseman of the Year in 2000.
“You have to be honest to yourself. You can fool a lot of other people with the effort you are putting in. But at the end of the day, you have to answer to yourself because only you know how hard you truly worked.”
