Arts

Flourishing Lives are those infused with the joy experienced when engaged with creative, meaningful activity. It is often in the studio and on the stage that the joy and fulfilment of creative activity clearly manifests.

At Ridley College, we aspire to provide students with opportunities to experience this joy and develop the capacities of the artist that too often is left to atrophy as children move through educational systems.

“My paintings have their own timeline, their own journey,” explains Niagara-based artist, Sandy Rasmussen ’07. “And I just have to trust that, because chances are what you’re working on right now will have a small and fleeting impact.”
We spoke with the talented painter as part of our Alumni At Work series, on everything from his recent exhibition at the Christopher Cutts Gallery, to Niagara’s exploding arts scene.
