Upper School

Physical Literacy and Sport for Life

Our Upper School athletics programme is structured to give all students the opportunity to improve on the skills they learned as children and develop the physical literacy to leverage those skills into a lifelong commitment to an active lifestyle.

To that end, our Sport for Life programme enables students who may not be inclined to vie for a spot on a competitive team to pursue that sport as part of a physically active lifestyle beyond Ridley. The programme is structured on the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, which exposes students to a variety of sports as a foundation for engaging in sport for life and provides a clear path to better sport, greater health, and higher achievement.

Our Sport for Life programme is made up of sports that students can continue to participate in for a lifetime, including:
  • Sailing
  • Fencing
  • Curling
  • Badminton
  • Martial Arts
