Samantha King

Samantha King is a Special Education Teacher at the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) since 2007.

Samantha teaches at the Toronto District Secondary School (previously known as Section 23) and works with grade 9-12 students dealing with mental health issues. She is part of the leadership team at her school, chairing the well being and short term stay committees; in addition to being a Crisis Prevention Intervention trainer for the board.  For the last 4 years, she has worked closely with Drs. Afroze Anjum and Tayyab Rashid to teach and train the Strength Based Resilience program.   As well, Samantha’s classroom was part of a research grant and she was part of the team that presented at the The 3rd Canadian Conference on Positive Psychology and the Fifth World Congress on Positive Psychology.  Most recently, Samantha and her colleagues have created an IDC30 course using SBR as its foundation.
