The son of devoted faculty members and a Lower School graduate, Andrew grew up on Ridley’s campus—but he seemed most at home in the ice hockey arena. In 1998, Andrew was drafted 34th overall by the Buffalo Sabres, beginning an NHL career that would see him play 229 games for the Sabres and the New Jersey Devils. For three consecutive years, Andrew was voted by his teammates to represent them as a member of the NHL Players’ Association, where he served on the advisory board and constitution committee.
Andrew is currently a contributor to the Sabres Hockey Network, co-hosting the daily talk show, The Instigators on WGR Buffalo. He also serves as colour commentator on game broadcasts for both the Sabres and Rochester Americans. These days, his most rewarding role is that of father to his six-year-old son, Brody.
