Maunder, Maria '90 - Rowing
Maria was just plain fast, winning OFSAA Swimming gold in the 50 and 200 free, and Schoolboy rowing gold. At Western University, she was a swimmer and won gold as a rower. From university, she joined the Canadian National Rowing Team and won on the world stage for four straight years. What may be most telling of her character, however, is that her greatest sport memory is of a time Maria came in second. At the 1996 Atlanta Summer games, her crew overcame the odds and landed on the Olympic podium.
