Anu Bhalla was a multiple first team colour athlete at Ridley, but her sports journey put her in the seat as both driver and motivator. Her's was the little voice in your head telling you not to quit—that you can go faster, that you can go further, that you can do more, that you can be better. A Bronze W recipient at Western University, Anu's powerful voice and skill drove crews to OUA and Canadian Henley Championships, and her dependability and moxie earned her the trust of coaches like Neil Campbell.
She is quoted as saying, “If you really want something in your heart, the only thing standing in your way is you.” Anu's determination helped her to realize her dreams—and those of her teammates—and create lasting memories.
“I learned that I did not have to be six feet tall to be an athlete, I found a sport that I loved and loved me back. I learned to be me for me. I thank sport for that. It made me who I am today.”
