Bell, Clarke "Sparky" '30 - Cricket

Bell, Clarke
In the confines of a brief competitive career both at Ridley and beyond prior to him making the ultimate sacrifice at Dieppe, this Tiger scored a total of 16 centuries. His performances in the Canadian Club Championships were nothing short of spectacular where, in a total of 25 visits to the batting crease, he scored 1401 runs, including five centuries, with a personal best of 193 not out in 1930. He was a better than average boxer, rugby and ice hockey player and is still considered one of the finest batsmen in Canadian cricket history.
