Ridley Pledges to Promote its Recycling Program Last spring, with the help of Green Squad, a service provided by the school’s waste management contractor, Ridley conducted a comprehensive waste audit that examined garbage and recycling from all buildings on campus. The Green Tiger Environmental Committee The Green Tiger Environmental Committee at Ridley College began meeting as an ad hoc group in the spring of 2006. This group, initiated by math teacher Ian Robertson, became more formalized in September 2006 with a policy and mandate to fulfill the environmental goals outlined in the strategic plan. Ridley was fortunate that board member, Roseanne Partington, a passionate environmental advocate, agreed to chair the Green Tiger initiative and assist the school in becoming an environmental leader among the Independent School family.
Since September the committee has been very busy ensuring the Ministry of Environment Waste Audit and Waste Reduction Plan have been completed.
