BUY-A-BOOK |
|
This program enables Ridley families to purchase a book for
the school library on the occasion of their child’s birthday or to commemorate
any significant event in a family member’s life. The books can be
found with our current library collections in Middle and Upper Schools.
Volunteer assistance may be required occasionally for correspondence.

|
CAMPUS CO-OP |
|
The Campus Co-Op is staffed by volunteers who helpstudents, staff and guests with their purchases as well as performing othertasks typical in a retail environment. Shifts are usually 3 hours in duration;Monday-Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. once a week. Extra helpis needed in late August/early September. You'll meet many students, parentsand staff in this area. No experience necessary, however, this jobrequires consistency and reliability. This is where we raise funds to help with the wish list; this enhances our children’s education. |
|
CLOTHING EXCHANGE |
|
This section collects and prices used uniform items
in June and sells the items in the 3-4 days prior to the start of classes in
September. Working in "Used Clothing" provides a great opportunity for
current parents to warmly welcome new students and their families, as
this is often one of their first stops.
|
|
JEWELLERY & MEMENTOES |
|
This committee provides a variety of items for
sale such as school rings, pendants, and watches at scheduled Ring Days
(approximately one a month), Parents' Days, and Cadet Inspection for a
duration of approximately 2 hours each time. A commitment to help out
3-4 times over the course of the year is optimum. Again, this is a great
opportunity to meet many students, parents, and alumni. No experience
necessary.

|
LOST, FOUND & RETURNED |
|
This dedicated group routinely collects, washes
and itemizes articles placed in the Lost & Found in Upper School. If
articles are clearly labeled, students are emailed a pick-up notification.
Lost and Found display days are posted on Community News and held
three times a year outside the Great Hall. This is a great way to meet students.

|
LOWER SCHOOL COMMITTEE |
|
The Lower School Committee is always looking for volunteers to help with events such as Sports Day or Artsfest, and to act as Class Parent Representatives and Phone Committee persons. This offers a great chance to meet other Lower School families! |
|
SOCIAL & DECORATING |
|
Planning and implementation of the Guild
General Meetings is done by this creative group. Responsibilities
include mailing of notices, set-up and decorating. School functions
include decorations for the Cadet Ball, Grade 8 Graduation and Prize
Day, the latter requiring many volunteers for short shifts over several
days. Creative suggestions are always welcome, however, for those who
aren’t so inclined, a willingness to follow instructions is all that is
required.

|
SPORTS HOSPITALITY |
|
During winter sporting events volunteers are needed
to staff the snack bar in the Griffith Complex. The snack bar is open for
weekend games/tournaments and the shifts are generally 2 hours in duration.
A note to those accustomed to freezing in arenas; this area is heated!

|
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE |
|
This group contacts hundreds of Ridley families inthe Golden Horseshoe Area to extend a friendly invitation to attend Guild General Meetings. In an effort to best serve our members, we offer families the option of telephone or e-mail notification. Volunteers need only to commit a couple of evenings a term without even leaving home! |
