The Ridley College legacy of academic excellence continues with ESL summer boarding programmes tailored for participants ages 9 to 17. Ridley offers two ESL Programmes that will help participants develop their English language proficiency.

  • ESL Camp Experience

    Our ESL Camp Experience is designed for participants aged 9 to 17 with a beginner or intermediate level of English proficiency. This programme will enhance a student’s reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking skills in fun, engaging ways, both in and out of the classroom by participating in exciting sports and camp activities around the campus. After class and on weekends, students practice their speaking and comprehension skills by taking part in Ridley’s robust co-curricular programme and by making cultural trips throughout the Niagara region and to Toronto.

    Two-week sessions:
    Session 1: July 15–July 28, 2018
    Session 2: August 5–August 18, 2018
     
    Deposit: $1000 (due at the point of registration)
    Cost: $3500 (full payment due May 15, 2018)

    Three-week sessions:
    Session 1: July 8–July 28, 2018
    Session 2: August 5–August 25, 2018
     
    Deposit: $1000 (due at the point of registration)
    Cost: $4999 (full payment due May 15, 2018)
     
    The cost of the ESL Camp Programme includes: the programme fee, accommodations on Ridley campus, all trips; excursions and on campus activities the students will participate in, 3 meals and two snacks daily, health insurance, and HST (tax).
     
    The programme cost does not include: spending money (we recommend that each student brings $300 Canadian cash), student’s flight, airport transportation, unaccompanied minor service (if required).

  • ESL Summer Credit Programme

    Our ESL Summer Credit Programme is designed for students ranging in age from 13 to 17 years with an intermediate to advanced level of English proficiency, who wish to apply to English speaking high schools or universities and/or wish to earn an Ontario Ministry of Education academic credit in ESL.

    Upon arrival, each student is formally assessed by respected members of the Ontario College of Teachers, who all possess an advanced certification in ESL programming. Students will then be placed in appropriate level classes where the curriculum will be delivered through an experiential learning approach, with a combination of classroom time and cooperative group activities. Participants will receive 110 hours of class time instruction and have the opportunity to develop their language skills by going on afternoon and weekend excursions, which include trips throughout the beautiful Niagara Region and to Toronto! At the end of this programme, students will have the opportunity to write for the BO/CO/DO test. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive an Ontario Ministry credit and a report card.

All our boarding programmes include:

  • 24-hour dorm supervision by qualified Ridley College staff
  • Shared accommodation in Ridley dorms
  • Three meals and two snacks daily
  • Health insurance while staying on campus
  • Access to 24 hour health care by medical professionals at Ridley’s Schmon Health Centre
  • Free WIFI access
  • Daily co-curricular activities after school from 4:30pm – 5:30pm, including sports, swimming, arts and crafts, and much more
  • Evening and weekend excursions such as: Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake shopping at the local outlet mall, Canada’s Wonderland, and day trip to Toronto.

The programme cost does NOT include: spending money (we recommend that each student brings $300 Canadian cash), student's flight, airport transportation, unaccompanied minor service (if required).

Refund Policy
Requests for cancellations or refunds must be made in writing and submitted to the Ridley College Summer Programmes office via email at 
summerprogrammes@ridleycollege.com. All cancellations received prior to May 15, 2018 will be eligible for a 50% refund of the deposit paid. If visa is denied full refund less 10% of the deposit will be issued. Copies of documentation from the Canadian Embassy will be required in order to process this refund request. Cancellations after May 15, 2018 will not be eligible for a refund.
 
Refunds may take four to six weeks to process.
