AJ Preece spent two years at Ridley before attending Bowdoin College, Maine, and has a B.A. (Economics) from Queens, and an MBA from Concordia. 
After her schooling AJ was the Executive Director of the Results-Based Management Division, Expenditure Management Sector, and Treasury Board Secretariat. She has held positions as the Corporate Secretary of Canada Border Services Agency, in addition to various executive level positions in both policy and program delivery at Human Resources and Skills Development Canada. She also served as the Federal Public Servant in Residence at Dalhousie University for two years. AJ’s career in the public service has been focused on results, reporting and business systems, and citizen-centric service delivery.
AJ is now the Vice President of the Strategic Directions and Service Excellence branch at the Canada School of Public Service.  She joined the School in January 2016, having previously worked at Health Canada as the Director General in the Safe Environments, Healthy Environments and Consumer Safety Branch in April 2013. AJ also teaches courses for the MPA (M) program for Dalhousie University (Masters – Public Administration (Management)).
