• Higher Education & Technology

Stephen Hunt grew up at Ridley: His parents were both teachers and the family lived on campus. He attended as a student, graduating in 1982, and worked at Ridley part-time throughout university. After receiving his bachelor's degree in Computer Science he returned once again to become a full-time employee for eleven years, finishing as Ridley’s first Director of Information Technology. These experiences gave Stephen a love of education at both the secondary and post-secondary level, and he developed his skills in technology and problem solving. Early on he began to focus on leadership roles where he could help organizations use technology in a smart, secure, and effective way.

After a number of years in advertising and marketing, Stephen is now employed in the higher education sector as the Director of Information Technology in the Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science at Queen’s University. In this role, he is responsible for creating and implementing the Faculty’s overall IT strategy, overseeing projects, and ensuring security and reliability of IT services. He manages the IT team, and works closely with IT leaders across the campus.
