Leadership

At Ridley, we strive to create an environment in which all students have the opportunity to develop the leadership skills they will need to thrive in an increasingly complex and global community.

Lower School students at every grade level are encouraged to establish a positive tone and act as role models, coaches, and mentors to their classmates and younger peers. Monday Advisory Sessions allow students to engage in discussions and participate in activities designed to further enhance leadership development. In addition, there are numerous opportunities for students to practice being a leader:
  • Leadership at Recess
  • Leadership in Class
  • Leadership Roles on Sports Teams
  • Tribe Leadership
  • Student Council Membership
  • Primary Lunchtime Helpers
  • Peer Mediators
  • Library Assistants and Monitors
  • Main Office Assistants
  • Reading Buddies
  • Special Event Assistants (e.g., Terry Fox Run, Jump Rope for Heart and Stroke, etc.)
